This is so beautiful and haunting. I love how you mix sharp, painful feelings with such soft, tender moments.
The idea of holding onto someone "one last time" over and over again feels so real and heartbreaking. That final line hits perfectly!!!! it shows that in the end, they are completely matched, even in their darkness. Truly stunning work ✨🖤
I think we can sometimes be attracted to people who are completely different from us, but deep down, I feel we find comfort in people who carry loneliness and anxieties similar to our own. 😇
Surprisingly good Nina. Thanks for asking! I woke to find nothing “stitched in skin” and that no-one had called to count my freckles! That was a relief as I have many! 😂😂😂
I was fine. I sleep best when it’s dark! But I appreciate your concern 😂😂😂. You dark poets are very considerate. No-one else asks after my welfare when I’ve read their stuff! 🖤
Trust the images more. Whenever the poem touches glass, skin, scars, freckles, heartbeat, it feels alive. Whenever it explains what those things mean, it becomes less powerful.
The strongest moments are the ones that leave the reader holding the shard rather than describing the wound.
nobody:
me: “soft poem?”
damien & night cracks: “no. covenant.”
The curse recognized itself
in another.
That is not darkness finding darkness.
That is the relief
of no longer pretending
to be something
lighter than you are.

There's a great harmony between your voices! Thanks for your wonderful gift! I wish you all a beautiful day!
Is it? 😅
I'd say it was a rumble in the jungle.
Poor @nina 🤣
Awesome day to you, friend 💛
Poor me.
I’d do it again 🩷

🩷😮💨 thank you Ashu
No greater gift than the reader who understands the writer’s work, and is able to engrave their emotions inside words. Thank you 💚
Thank you, Ashu! <3 <3

Yeah, you’re right.
We all look for a mirror at some point. In this case, a black one 🖤
Sometimes the black mirrors show us the most truth. 😇

Maybe I shouldn’t have read this before bed. Love a shared curse (she lied) 😬. 🖤

Too chaotic to sleep well? 😂

Who said dark poets have to be soulless?
We got you 🖤
Sorry we devoured your soul with Damien. Oh… you didn't know it was a part of the deal? Bit late for a refund… it was very tasty though. Thank you.
Exactly!!! And thank you 🖤
Occupational hazards...
We're used to it 🤣

It’s been a while since I read some valuable criticism on Substack.
Thanks, L.O. 🖤
